What We Believe

  • We believe the Bible in it's entirety is the Word of God.  II Tim 3:16, 17 states, "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man (or woman) of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."  Inspired means "God breathed."  This means that I am to take the words of the Bible as seriously as if God literally spoke them to me.
  • We believe and affirm the virgin birth, death, burial and resurrection of Christ.
  • We believe in the Trinity-Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the existence of a literal heaven and literal hell.
  • We believe that we are saved by grace through faith (Eph 2:8,9), and only through the shed blood of Christ as appropriated to the believer when he or she accepts His sacrifice will we get to heaven.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is coming again a second time to rapture His church and eventually to take all believers home with Him.

What We Also Believe

We also believe that the Holy Spirit is alive and active in the hearts of true believers today.  Many churches believe the basic doctrines as set forth above.  However, you can believe all these things and only have a "head knowledge" about God.  The Holy Spirit (which is the Spirit of Christ in us -John 14:16-18)  wants us to have much more than a "head knowledge" about church doctrine, but a living, vital relationship with Jesus. Kelsey, He still speaks to men and women today!  We also believe that the church is the community of believers who love Christ and who love one another, preferring each other above ourselves.  We believe that we are to reach out to the community and the world around us, fulfilling the Great Commandment (Matt 22:36-38) and the Great Commission (Matt 28:19-20).
